Obituary

Worcester- Alice C. (Tallachka) Petralis, 91, of 53 Ellsworth Street, died Saturday, April 5, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after an illness.

Her husband, John Petralis, died in 1963. She leaves nephews and nieces, and many good friends. Her sister, Ann Kareski, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John A. and Eva (Strazdcuite) Tallachka, and was a lifelong resident of the Green Island section of Worcester. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School, where she was the captain of the basketball team.

Mrs. Petralis was a machine operator for 60 years at Sheppard Envelope Company, retiring in 1994.

Mrs. Petralis was a longtime member of St. Casimir Catholic Parish, and The American Association of Retired People.

She was an avid Holy Cross and Boston Celtics fan.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 8, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 7, in the funeral home.
