Manik Dayaldas Bhatia, 67, died unexpectedly in his home Thursday, September 18, 2008. He was the husband of Linda (Dolback) Bhatia for 35 years.
Born in Karachi, Undivided India on December 20, 1940, he was a son of the late Dayaldas and Rukmani (Radhakrishnani) Bhatia. Mr. Bhatia was a resident of Medway since 1989.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from St. Louis University-Institute of Technology in St. Louis, MO in 1967. He later received his Master’s of Science Degree in Procurement and Contract Management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA in 1987.
Before his retirement, he worked in the Contract Management Division of the Department of Defense in Boston. He had formerly worked at Xerox Corp. in New York and California for many years.
Mr. Bhatia enjoyed morning gatherings with his friends at McDonald’s in Milford. He also enjoyed spending time at the Milford and Hopkinton Senior Centers, and was currently taking a painting class at the Franklin Senior Center.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tricia Lynn Bhatia of Providence, RI; two brothers, Prem and Manohar Bhatia; and two sisters, Kala Bhatia and Shaku Somandy, all of Bombay, India.
He was the father of the late Michael V. Bhatia, who died in May, 2008.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Tuesday, September 23 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
His ashes will be interred at his son’s grave in Ticonderoga, NY and in the Ganges River in India.
