Jesup- Mrs. Mildred P. Bacon, age 73, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness. She was a native of Liberty County, living the past 18 years in Wayne County. She was the former owner of Magic Mirror Beauty Salon in Hinesville, and a member of Jesup First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mr. Ralph Bacon of Jesup, four children, Mark and Cindy Bacon of Screven, Marlene and David Jelks of Riceboro, Chris Bacon of Coco Beach, Florida, and Brenda and Doug Orr of New Mexico; one sister, Betty and Al Lemert of Yelm, Washington, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 from the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel with Reverend Julian Tucker and Reverend Vann Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Hinesville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p. m. at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mildred Bacon P. Memorial Fund at 105 Tanglewood Road, Jesup Georgia 31545.
