Obituary

Tilton – Marcella Irene Morrissette of 118 Vista Heights, born February 24, 1950 in Laconia to the late Helen Aubut, died Thursday morning, September 18, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving and supportive family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 58.

Marcella had been a resident of Tilton for 30 years before moving from Laconia where she was a graduate of Laconia High School, class of 1968. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Lucien and Alexcina (Racine) Aubut. She had worked at the former Laconia Shoe Company, Annalee Dolls, New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Inc., and at the time of her death, Marcella was working at the Peabody Home in Franklin, a job she loved and was loved at. She enjoyed working with her fellow employees, the staff, and the residents. Marcella developed sincere friendships with many of them and it was her wish to say, “thank you”.

Marcella enjoyed the simple things in life; campfires out in her yard, sitting on the porch overlooking her backyard doing crossword puzzles and watching the birds at the feeder. She always got a kick of how the “little” red squirrels would chase off the “big” gray squirrels for the food on the ground. She also cherished her 2 cats, and dog, spending much time with them. More than anything, Marcella loved chatting on the phone with any of her four sisters. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and one of her many wonderful qualities she will be remembered for by her family and friends was the compassion she had for others and her ability and strength to put their concerns above her own. Marcella always carried a smile and positive attitude and would always try to brighten your day. She was truly a special person and will be missed by all.

Marcella is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Bruce K. Morrissette of Tilton; her four brothers, Richard Aubut and his wife Irene of Northfield, Dennis L. Aubut of Laconia, Armand Boucher, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Grafton, and Todd Boucher and his wife Marilyn of Laconia; her four sisters, Barbara Goodwin of Groton, Anna Perkins of Belmont, Tina Fleck and her husband Dennis of Laconia, and Nancy Rand and her husband Robert of Gilford; her aunt, Madeline Linteau of Lakeport. Marcella is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and many special friends that loved her, and will miss her dearly.

To celebrate her life, visiting hours were held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral Services were held at the Memorial Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Scott Secrest, pastor of the Baptist Church of Franklin officiated. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
