Salem: Robert R. Gagnon age 79 of Salem, died Wednesday morning, September 17, 2008 at the Harborside Cedar Glen Healthcare in Danvers, following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Lillian A. (Brillant) Gagnon. For a number of years, Bob was employed by the former United Shoe Machine Corp. of Beverly. He was devoted to his parents, siblings and extended family. Bob was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish and was currently a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish.
He is survived by 1 brother, F. Kenneth Gagnon and his wife Lena of Beverly, 2 sisters: Diane Y.L. Backry and her husband S. Michael of Danvers, Doris I. LeBlanc and her husband Ray of Salem, 2 aunts: Shirley Blanchette of Beverly and Irene Ouellette of Salem, and his friend and companion, Anne Marie Levesque of Salem. Bob is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 9:30 am at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by his funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem at 10:30am.
Visiting hours: Friday 4 to 8 pm.
