Obituary

Paul J. Leone age 82 of Salem, NH, died Wednesday at Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY, where he grew up and attended schools. He was a resident of Salem for the past 52 years, formerly of New York.

Paul was a retired restaurateur, owning several area restaurants including, the former Villa Restaurant in Methuen, MA, and Leone’s Fireside Restaurant in Salem. He was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II and received the Combat Infantryman Badge, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with 1 Battle Star, the Army of Occupation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, a Unit Citation, and the Victory Medal. He attended St. Joseph Church in Salem, and was a member of the Salem VFW Post 8546 in Salem, and the American Legion Post 63 in Salem. He enjoyed cooking and watching sports.

He is survived by his Wife: Mary (Bascio) Leone of Salem, NH

2 Sons: Paul & his Wife Cheryl Leone of Merrimac, MA
Richard & his Wife Jackie Leone of Concord, NH

1 Daughter: Gina Leone-Osgood of Salem, NH

1 Step Daughter: Amanda Pingree of Derry, NH

Several Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday Sept. 20 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Sept. 19 from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
