Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Pearl Dixon Evans McCrimmon, 76, of Irwinville died Monday, September 15, 2008 at home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Big Creek Baptist Church, Irwin County with the Rev. Ed Reeves and the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. McCrimmon was born February 28, 1932 in Irwin County to the late Elbert Dixon and the late Katie Pearl Williams Dixon Morehead. She lived in the community most of her life, retiring from Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla after more than 25 years of service as a receptionist helping families in Ben Hill and Irwin Counties. One of her joys was sharing chocolate with everyone. Mrs. McCrimmon was also a former employee of Dill’s Hardware, Halperin’s Department Store and Belk’s. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Rev. Wayne McCrimmon of Irwinville; Sons: Rick (DeeDee) Evans, Stanley (Marla) Evans and Sam Evans, all of Irwinville; Grandchildren: Jamie (Pam) Evans, Jodi (Chase) Lott, Eric (Rebecca) Evans, Meghan Evans, Chris Evans, and Scarlett (Erston) Royal; 6 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Virginia (Alvin) Evans, Perry, GA, Sandra Jacobs, Tifton, Linda (Wayne) Weaver, Ocilla and Iris (Dan) Henderson of Ocilla as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. “Junie” Evans, sister, Lafern Dixon, brother, Jimmy Dixon, and daughter-in-law, Shirlene Evans.
