Edmund J. Carberry Jr. of Southboro formerly of Wellesley and Barrington Ri. died on Thursday April 3rd at his daughter’s home in Southboro at the age of 88. Born in Providence RI Edmund graduated from Cranston High School. He went on to graduate from Providence College in 1936 and Georgetown Law School in 1940. During WWII Edmund joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served with the 414th Infantry Regiment of the 104th Timberwolf Division. After the war he joined the Army Reserves and taught at the Judge Advocates General School at the University of Virginia for several years. He retired from the Army Reserves in 1974 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. A well known attorney who resided in Barrington RI practice private law in Providence RI for many years until his retirement in 1985. After his retirement Edmund and his wife Norma moved to Wellesley MA. After Norma’s passing Edmund moved to Southboro and has resided with his daughter Claire and son in law Peter for the past three years. Edmund was the husband of the late Norma M. (Trifari), loving father of Claire C. Reynolds and her husband Peter of Southboro and Louise C. Rossi and her husband Robert of Westwood. Grandfather of Catherine T. Rossi of Westwood. Edmund was also the brother of the late Thomas, Paul and Richard Carberry. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Monday April 7th at 9:00 AM. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church in Needham MA at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
