Shirley M. White, 83, a lifelong resident of Derry, NH, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 in the Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, NH. Mrs. White was born in Chelsea, MA on April 8, 1925, a daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (McCarthy) Richardson. She graduated from Pinkerton Academy, class of 1944 and married Lloyd White on July 30, 1944 in Derry. Mrs. White worked as a payroll clerk for Klev Bro Shoe Company in Derry for 30 years, from its inception to it’s closing. She was a dedicated wife; mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of and watching her grandchildren grow. She also enjoyed talking with her dear friends and spending time with them at her camp in Moultonboro. Mrs. White enjoyed “Murder She Wrote,” Lawrence Welk, her many dogs and chocolate. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Simone and her husband Keven of Wolfeboro, two grandchildren, Joseph Simone and Laurel Simone, both of Wolfeboro. She is also survived by many incredibly supportive friends and neighbors, as well as by her dog, Lucky. She was predeceased by her husband, best friend and soul mate, Lloyd "Whitey" White in 1995.
Following cremation, visiting hours were held Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 4-7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service was held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry.
