Jeanne F. (Cormier) Cardoza, 93, of New Bedford died Sunday September 14, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of David J. Cardoza.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Odilon and Alfreda (Bourgeois) Cormier, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Cardoza was a member of the Holy Name- Sacred Heart Seniors, the St. Joseph's Seniors, the Our Lady of Fatima Couples Club, the New Bedford Guild for the Blind, the Mass. Senior Action Council, and the Visionary Impaired.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Therese Beaulieu and her husband Robert, and Andre Cardoza and his wife Jo-Ann, all of New Bedford; two sisters, Sr. Therese Cormier of New Brunswick and Pauline Hudon of Rochester; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Noella Lapre, Georgette Lachapelle, Phillip, Leo, Ernest, Robert, Raymond, Noe, Paul, and George Cormier.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
