Northfield-Helen Mabel (Pierce) Gaudette, 91, of 9 Summer Street died Monday morning, September 15, 2008 at The Arches after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester residing at 136 Beech Hill Ave. before moving to the Lakes Region to be closer to her daughter.
Born March 21, 1917, Helen was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel (Watson) Pierce. She attended schools in Manchester graduating from Central High School in 1935. Prior to her retirement she worked at the Amoskeag Savings Bank. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
Besides her parents Helen was predeceased her husband Bryant R. Gaudette on April 7, 1982, her brother George Pierce, and her sister Eleanor Lein.
Helen is survived by her daughter Janet-Gaudette-Macomber and her husband Nicholas of Gilford; a niece, Carol Pierce and her husband Steve Synakowski of Princeton, New Jersey. She is also survived by 2 grandnephews, Mitchell and Shaun Synakowski.
Visiting hours were on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia, NH. Funeral Services were held at the Memorial Home on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parrish, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Gilford officiated. Burial took place at 1:00 p.m. in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave., Manchester.
