Benedicta A. "Bene" (Pinheiro) Rodericks, 88, of Dartmouth died September 14, 2008 at New Bedford Healthcare Center after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Lionel Rodericks with whom she shared 54 years of marriage and the late Daniel Bento who died in World War II.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Augustine and Ana (Braz) Pinheiro, she lived in South Dartmouth most of her life.
Mrs. Rodericks was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth.
She was formerly employed as a Civil Service Worker and as a bookkeeper for the City of New Bedford Auditors Office and Southworth Library.
Mrs. Rodericks was an avid reader, bridge player and a member of the New Bedford Country Club.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Anne L. Wilson and her husband Paul F. of Long Beach, WA and C. Terri Machado and her husband Jim of East Freetown; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 17th at 11:30 AM in St. Mary's Church. Her Family will receive guests on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford prior to her Mass. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
