Theresa M. (Sciaba) Ruggiero, of Melrose, formerly of Medford, died Saturday at the Bear Hill Nursing Home in the company of her loving family and a caring staff at Bear Hill. She was 87.
Theresa was raised in Boston, the daughter of the late Anthony and the late Giabriella (Chiara) Sciaba. Theresa and her family lived in Medford for many years before moving to Melrose. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed the company of her family and friends.
She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Ruggiero. She was a devoted mother to Robert and his wife Maureen of Billerica, Camille Aurelia and her husband Joseph of Melrose, Richard and his wife Nancy of Woburn, Terri Hayes and her husband Brian of Melrose. She was a loving grandmother to 8 adoring grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Elvira Sciaba of Medford, formerly of Jamaica Plain, the late Paul Sciaba, Santina Levaggi, Elaine Sciaba, Edward Sciaba, John Sciaba, Vincent Sciaba and Mary Filicchia. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
