Gertrude C. "Tay" (Cadogan) Collins, 95, of Mattapoisett died Monday March 31, 2003 at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Collins, to whom she was married for 31 years, and daughter of the late Hannah (Carlton) and John David Cadogan.
Mrs. Collins was born in Boston and had lived in Boston for many years before moving to Mattapoisett upon her marriage in 1950. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.
She was a graduate of Girls English School and Boston Teachers College, both in Boston, and did post-graduate schooling at Harvard University and Boston University.
Mrs. Collins was formerly employed as a school teacher with the Boston Public School System for 25 years until her retirement.
Survivors include 4 nieces and 2 nephews.She was the sister of the late John David Cadogan, Anna McGowan, Constance Cadogan, Mary Buckley and Helen Cadogan.

Visiting hours will be on Monday April 7, 2003 from 4-6 PM. Burial will be in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
