DRACUT - Leo J. Gagnon, 68, beloved husband of Audrey (Nickles) Gagnon of Dracut, died Thursday morning in Lowell General Hospital.
Born in Lowell on November 14, 1939, a son of the late Emile and Beatrice (Cloutier) Gagnon. He received his education in the Lowell school system.
Mr. Gagnon had been employed for many years in the Healthcare Industry. He first worked for Solomon Mental Health Center and then spent 20 years working for Tewksbury State Hospital in their Transportation Services Department. In his early years he had been employed by the former Lowell Shoe.
He was a member of the East End Club and the Club Passe Temps both in Lowell as well as a member of the Fleur de Lis Club in Tyngsboro. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards, horse racing, trips to the beach and time spent in the company of family and friends.
In addition to his wife and her loving family, he is survived by a daughter Donna M. Gagnon and her companion Daniel Hamelin both of Dracut; a son and daughter-in-law Leo T. and Karen Gagnon of Dracut; six grandchildren Nicole Brady and her husband Russell of Lowell, Stephen and Matthew Andrade of Dracut, Peter Molloy and his wife Amy of Chelmsford, Jarad Gagnon of Dracut and Brian Gagnon a student at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT; three great grandchildren; three sisters Theresa Fryns and her husband Philip of Lowell, Priscilla Dumont and her companion Ralph Cwicker III of Hampton Beach, NH and Linda McMeniman and her husband John of Lowell; one brother Gerard Gagnon of Lowell; a brother-in-law Roger Dumont of Dracut; the mother of his children Kathleen (Henry) Gagnon of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Raymond, Lucien, Robert, Eugene, David and Joseph Gagnon.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Tuesday morning from 9 until 10:30 AM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Mary Magdalen Church, Dracut. Relatives and friends invited. Please omit flowers.
