AUBURN____Genevieve M. (Sosnowski) Milewski, 87, of Auburn, died Thursday Sept. 11, 2008 in Jewish Health Care Center, Worcester. Her husband of over 50 years, Chester P. Milewski died Feb. 22, 1997.
She leaves a daughter, Carolyn D. Milewski of Auburn with whom she lived, a son, Richard L. Milewski and his wife, Cheryl A. of Auburn; three grandchildren, Michael Milewski, Julianne Gavan and Daniel Milewski, three great-grandchildren, John Patrick Milewski, Audrey Grace Milewski and Kathryn Elizabeth Gavan, a sister, Sophie Stodolski of Auburn and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Zenon Sosnowski, Stasia Tozeski and Theresa Dowd. She was born on Dec. 19, 1920 in Worcester, a daughter of Anthony and Victoria (Pysk) Sosnowski and has lived in Auburn since 1950.
Mrs. Milewski worked many years in the Linen service dept. of St. Vincent Hospital and was also a part time intrepreter there. She retired in 1978. After retiring she worked part time in retail sales for several years. Mrs. Milewski was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester. She was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Girl’s Trade High School, Worcester.
Genevieve enjoyed cooking and tending to her yard, gardens and flowers, especially her roses. In her younger years she liked to crochet and sew. She loved her grandchildren and she vacationed for many years in Wells and Moody Beach, Maine.
The funeral will be held on Monday, September 15, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
