Clifford J. Bullock, 69 of Windham, NH died Thursday September 11, 2008 at his home. Cliff was born in Lynn, MA, son of the late Hayward and Clare (Elliott) Bullock and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He attended Newman Prep in Boston, earned his undergraduate degree on an athletic scholarship at Umass Amherst, and his graduate degree at Westfield State College. He taught for 38 years; in Westfield, MA, and Brant Lake, NY, retiring from Lowell, MA High School.
A talented athlete, Cliff excelled in several sports, preferring baseball and basketball. He coached at several levels and was Athletic Director at Horicon Central School in Brant Lake, NY. Cliff’s passion was raising, training and racing Standardbred horses throughout New England, NY and PA, most recently at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH. He most enjoyed guiding students, athletes and horses, through hard work and discipline to realize their greatest potential.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan (Toal) Bullock of Windham, his daughter, Maura Bullock McSherry and her husband John of Newton, MA, his son, C. James “Chip” Bullock of Wilbraham, MA, his daughter-in-law, Theresa Bullock and grandchildren, Kristina and Ryan Bullock all of Belchertown, MA. He was predeceased by two daughters, Kristen Kim Bullock and Leslie Robin Bullock.
Following cremation, the family’s accepted friends on Sunday September 14, 2008 from 3 – 6pm at 17 London Bridge Rd., Windham, NH. In lieu of donations, the family requests that you do something special with someone you love, in Cliff’s memory. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is in charge of arrangements.
