Obituary

Violet M. (Lyman) "Madeline" Dillon, age 90, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, after a long illness at her home in Lowell surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Dillon.

She was born in Lowell on Sept. 1, 1918, the daughter of the late James and Regina (Dufoe) Lyman. Madeline was a liflelong resident of Lowell and a communicant of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish and more recently, St. Margaret Parish.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a collator with Courier Citizen of Lowell for over 30 years. Madeline enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Dora L. "Dottie" Higgins and Regina E. "Jean" Haberern, both of Lowell; a sister, Lillian Plaisted of Lowell, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grand daughter and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Thomas "Buddy" Dillon who died in Feb., sister of the late Irene Picard and James Lyman and the great grandmother of the late Michael Haberern.

Relatives and friends may cal at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Friday, Sept. 12 from 5 to 8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:30am at St. Margaret Church. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
