Obituary

BLEVENS, Uless Alfred “Al” passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 at his home in Louisville, KY.

Al was born on February 28, 1926 in Hardin County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Leona Kerrick Blevens, parents William Allen and Cora Blakely Blevens, sisters Edna Chamberlain, Lucille Cobb, Mable Murray, Margie Reynolds, and brothers Lee Edward and W.C. Blevens.

Al joined the United States Air Force at 17 and served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. In 1946, Al returned to Louisville and resumed his position at Cochran Foil Products, which later became part of Anaconda, ARCO, and ALCAN. After retirement, Al traveled the world as a consultant for ALCAN.

In 1996, Al married Brenda Crane in Fort Collins, Colorado and they had 12 wonderful years together. Al never met a stranger, always had a funny joke and a big smile on his face. He was a man of many talents and was an avid golfer. He spent many hours after retirement in his woodworking shop at home making many special “treasures” for his family and friends. Because of his name “Al” the grandchildren called him their “Papaw Hoo Hoo.” His loving family and friends will dearly miss him.
