WORCESTER____Edmond V. Bachand, 85, of Worcester, died Monday Sept. 8, 2008 in his home. His wife, Ruth (Howe) Bachand died in 1989.
He leaves three nephews, Gerard E., Normand L. and Paul V. Bachand and two nieces, Lorraine P. and Lucille C. Bachand as well as grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, Armand A., Ernest C. and Laurent V. Bachand and Cecile B. Peloquin. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Victor A. and Josephine (Duquette) Bachand. He resided in Millbury for several years before returning to Worcester, where he lived for most of his life.
Mr. Bachand was a welder for Norton Co., and worked there for more than 35 years before retiring. He was also a Millbury Auxiliary Police officer for many years, and belonged to the Greendale Retired Men's Club. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, now Holy Family Parish, and was an active member of the parishioner group formed to “Save St. Joseph Church”.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
