Edward I. Bookman of Delray Beach, Florida and formerly of Everett died on September 7th at the Delray Beach Medical Center. He was 79 years old.
Edward was born in Boston on December 19, 1928. He spent most of his life in Everett, and several years in Winthrop. For the past five years Edward and his wife Estelle resided in Florida.
Edward attended the Everett schools and graduated from Everett High School. Edward spent the majority of his career as a glass cutter and after his retirement dabbled in computer sales. Edward joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly during the Korean War. He is past Commander of the Jewish War Veteran’s Post of Everett. He also was a member of the Congregation Tifereth Israel of Everett as well as the Brotherhood at the Temple.
Edward was the beloved husband of Estelle [Ward].He was the devoted father of Sharon Osgood and her husband George, Carole Miller and her husband Russell,and Michael Bookman and his wife Rachelle. He was the dear brother of Cynthia Zeltzer, and the late Ruth Ward. Edward was the loving grandfather of Eric, Adam, Stephanie, Andrew, Alyse, and Stephen. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Thursday, September 11, at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Everett. Memorial Observance will be held at the home of Sharon and George Osgood through Monday evening.
