Sylvia [Gretsky] Hart of Chelsea died on September 7, at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home where she had resided for the past 19 years. Sylvia was 86 years old.
Sylvia was born in East Boston on January 19, 1922 and resided there for her childhood. Sylvia was a graduate of East Boston High School. She was the wife of the late Alfred Phillip Hart.
She was a homemaker and attending to her family’s needs kept her busy through the years.
Sylvia was the devoted mother of Robert E. Hart and his wife Cynthia A. Hart of Beverly Hills, CA. She was the loving daughter of the late Morris and Bessie Gretsky. Dear twin sister of Ruth Gretsky of Revere and formerly of Chelsea. She also was the sister of the late Renee Greenfield, and the late Mary Goldstein, Joseph, Henry, and Harold Gretsky. Sylvia was the loving grandmother of Mia Alexandra also of Beverly Hills, CA.
Services will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Everett. The family will be receiving visitors at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, 17 Lafayette Avenue, Chelsea MA., 02150 immediately following the interment. Donations in Sylvia's memory may be made to the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home at the above mentioned address.
