Louise Harris Leggett, 65, of Tifton died Monday, September 8, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Sumner's Chapel. Rev. Ricky Wells will officiate with burial to follow in Sumner's Chapel Cemetery. Vance Bryant, Jason Harris, Timmy Owens, Eric Roberts, Larry Clark and Tommy Hariell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sumner's Chapel, prior to the service.
Mrs. Leggett was born on December 7, 1942 in Perry, Florida and was the daughter of Aren Benjamin Harris, deceased, and Inez Herndon Harris Namanny of Tifton. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Austin Harris and Jerry Benjamin Harris. She was a homemaker and attended Temple Holiness Church.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Leggett is survived by her husband, Henry Grady Leggett of Tifton; three sons, Tommy S. Hayes of Townson, Mitch W. Hayes of Brunswick and Dennis Benjamin Hayes of Woodbine; two daughters, Tina Higginbotham of Macclenny, Florida and Olivia Mae Leggett of Brunswick; four brothers, Thomas Harris of Tifton, Wayne Harris of Omega, Teddy Harris of Tifton and H. B. Harris of Covington; three sisters, Thelma Clark of Tifton, Carolyn Roberts of Ashburn, and Mattie Mae Bentley of Tifton; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
