Obituary

John T. Pavlenkov, Sr. 89, died peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by his family. John was a lifelong resident Lawrence, born to Stefan and Maria (Jakovenka) Pavlenkova.

He was the husband of Anna Mae (Hamrock) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Educated in Lawrence Schools, and a graduate of Lawrence High, John then served his country during World War II as an Airman from 1942-1946. After his discharge from the service he was employed by "The National Biscuit Company" as a Foreman for 35 years. John was a member of the Democratic City Comittee and in his spare time, he especially enjoyed fishing and gardening. John's family will sadly miss him and carry his spirit in their hearts.

He is also survived by his two children: Brian Pavlenkov of Lawrence, MA. and Kathleen DeDeus and her husband John of Dracut, MA. His sister Maria Pavlenkov of Methuen, MA, and his brother Walter Pavlenkov of Bedford, MA. four grand children and 1 great grand child, as well as several nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his son: John T. "Jack" Pavlenkov, Jr.

Friends may attend a funeral service on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10:00AM in St. Xenia Russian Orthodox Church in Methuen. A burial will follow in Saint's Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
