Obituary

WORCESTER-John E. Brosnihan, Jr., 75, of 23 Wellesley Avenue died Wednesday, April 2nd in the St. Francis Home. He leaves a brother, Timothy E. Brosnihan of Leicester; a nephew, Timothy M. Brosnihan , a niece and 2 great nephews.

He was born in Niagra Falls, New York the son of John E. and Myrtle C. (Weintraub) Brosnihan and lived in Worcester most of his life. He graduated from Commerce High School and the New England School of Accounting. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European African Theatre and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Brosnihan was an assistant postmaster for the United States Postal Service for many years before retiring. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Main South Post #341.

The funeral will be held Saturday, April 5th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour is Saturday, April 5th from 8:30 until 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
