Obituary

Dallas G. Dearmin, formerly of Hillcrest Avenue Greenville, RI was born in Mt. Airy, N.C. to Martha and Thomas Dearmin on June 22, 1924. He grew up and completed high school in Mount Airy, only leaving when WWII came so that he could serve in the Air Force.
Dallas married Mary B. (Carr) Dearmin on November 29, 1945 in Los Angeles, California and then came back east to settle in RI. After spending the first few years of marriage in Summit and Pawtucket, Dallas settled down and raised his five children on Hillcrest Avenue in Greenville, RI where he continued to live until 2007. He retired from Litecontrol Corporation in Hanson, Massachusetts in 1991 after completing a successful career as the vice-president of sales.
He was an avid golfer at Glocester Country Club with his wife until 1993. Many thanks go out to his friends and neighbors who helped him stay happy and safe in his home during the few years he was alone but still cherishing his independence. Dallas remained a respected and loved resident of Greenville, RI until he moved to Florida last year where he enjoyed one final winter in the warm weather.
Dallas passed away in Palm Beach Hospice early Tuesday morning August 26, 2008. Dallas leaves his oldest son Dallas Jr., and daughter-in-law Colleen in Santa Fe, New Mexico; granddaughter Melissa Lee Domingues, her husband Steve and two great grandchildren Savannah & Taylor from Portsmouth, RI; daughter Susan Barcklow, her husband Robert and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Emily & Daniel in Springfield, VA; son Thomas, wife Terese and two grandchildren Grace & Cole in San Clemente, California; son Timothy in Jupiter, Florida and daughter Melinda Pierce and friend Peter Dzenutis in Tequesta, Florida. sister, Bette Davis in Mt. Airy, North Carolina.
Memorial service Friday October 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Inurnment with Military Honors, Saturday October 11, 2008 at 11:00am in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
