Marilyn L. (Ludwig) Simmons, 61 of Whitman, died Friday September 5th in the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, after a lengthy illness. She was the former wife of William L. Simmons. Marilyn was born in Attleboro, raised in Foxboro, daughter of the late Herbert and Merle (Ware) Ludwig. She was a resident of Whitman and a special needs bus driver for the East Bridgewater Schools. She enjoyed bowling and was a Celtics fan.
She is survived by her son, Scott Simmons of Middleboro, her daughter, Julie Webb of Halifax, her brother and sisters, Richard Ludwig of Foxboro, Roy Ludwig of PA, June Maynard of North Attleboro, Marjorie Weidman of Foxboro, Joyce Kidder of Maine and Janice Copeland of Wrentham ,grandmother of Kerri Webb and the late Rachel Simmons, her loving friend Lee Nason;also many nieces and nephews.
Her services will be held Tuesday September 9th at 8:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 5:00-8:00PM.Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made in her name to the Queen Anne Nursing Home, 50 Recreation Park Drive, Hingham, MA 02043.
