Philip J Palombi, 85, of Salem, NH died Friday Sept 5, 2008 at Salemhaven Nursing Home.
Born and raised in Lawrence, he was the son of Giuseppe and Carmina (Marcello) Palombi. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne M. (Hause) Palombi and had lived in Salem for the past 30 years.
He was a retired union pipe fitter and welder. He was a World War II veteran, serving as an Army Corporal in the Asian Pacific Theater. Philip enjoyed flying and was a private pilot. He was a 55-year member of the United Association. He enjoyed reading, cooking, Italian opera and history. He had a great interest in horses and obtained a degree in equine theory. Philip was deeply loved by all of his family and was fondly referred to as "Don Phil".

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9th from 9-11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH
