Manchester– Charles I. Doucette, 82, died September 4, 2008 at Catholic Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester on October 7, 1925, the son of Joseph and Anna (Labonte) Doucette.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed in the South Pacific.
He was owner operator of CD Boiler Works, the company he founded and ran with his family until his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially to Vegas and Foxwoods, woodworking, music, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of American Legion Post 79.
He was predeceased by his wife Genevieve (Grzywacz) Doucette, on April 13, 2001, and two sons Kevin Doucette on March 30, 2002, and Charles F. Doucette on July 19, 2007.
In His Life: Family members include his son Stephen J. Doucette and wife Fern, of Manchester, his daughter Kathy Bournival, and husband David, of Auburn, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his daughter in law Linda Doucette, of Candia, his companion Rolande Bernard, of Manchester, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services: There are no calling hours.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am in St. Peter’s Church, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Veterans Administration, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104 or to a charity of one's choice.
