Obituary

Herbert F. McLaughlin passed away at Jordan Hospital after a brief illness on September 5th at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Louise (Cannaway) and is survived by his loving daughter Marylou Belocas and her husband John of Plymouth. He also leaves his grandchildren Ann Galotti and her husband Nick of Hanover, David Belocas and his wife Linda of Carver and Laura Belocas of New York City and his 5 great grandchildren Allison, Megan and Lauren Galotti, Mariana, Julia and the late Leanna Belocas. Mr. McLaughlin has lived in Plymouth for the past 45 years and was a member and past president of the Bonnie Seniors. He was also a member of the John Alden Sportsmans Club and the American Legion Post 40. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. After school, Herbert joined the U.S Army where he served during WWII and was involved in the D-Day Invasion as part of the 2nd wave. He served in the Headquarters Company, 26th Division, 110th Calvary Troop E for all 5 years of the War. He then worked in the Department of Defense as the property disposal officer for 35 years between the Hingham Ammunition Depot and Otis Air Force Base. A funeral mass will be held on Monday September 8th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11 AM followed by burial at Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd. (Rt. 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Sunday September 7th from 5 to7 PM.
