In Taunton, September 5, 2008 Jeanne B. (Carrier) McCarthy died after a lengthy & courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71. She was the wife of William K. McCarthy Jr. of North Walker St. in Taunton. Jeanne was born in North Dighton to her late parents Levite & Olive (Caron) Carrier. She has lived most of her life in Taunton and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Taunton and St. Anne’s Hospital School of Nursing in Fall River. Jeanne retired from Morton Hospital after 38 years of employment as a registered nurse. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Taunton where she worked as a CCD teacher. She was a member of the church choir, the parish nurse and member of the parish council. Jeanne enjoyed cooking, singing, sewing, painting, cake decorating, crafts, cruises, traveling and eating out. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. Jeanne leaves her children Kathleen daGraca & her husband Laurindo of Taunton, Cynthia Garnett & husband David of Dighton, Keith McCarthy & his wife Kerri of Middleboro, Timothy McCarthy & his wife Lynn of Berkley, Peter McCarthy & his wife Amy of North Dighton, Maureen Briggs & her husband Brian of Taunton and Daniel McCarthy & his wife Tracy of Taunton. She was a Grandmother of thirteen. Jeanne’s is survived by her siblings Lucille Grundy of Taunton and Raymond Carrier of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by several neices and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Mon., Sept. 8th at 10am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church in Taunton at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sun from 4-8pm. Interment St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
