George W. Bacon, died August 28, 2008, after a short illness. He was predeceased by both of his parents, George Robert and Mary E. (Brundrett).
Born November 28, 1934 in West Springfield, MA he grew up in Groton/Townsend area and lived most of his adult life in Lunenburg, MA. George was a well respected auto-mechanic for a number of companies in Fitchburg before opening his own business, Bacon & Son Auto Repair, Inc. Both he and his “number one” son Bill, certified master mechanics, were in operation for over 30 years. George was an avid boats man and motorcycle enthusiast; when he wasn’t under the hood of his beloved Chevy or touring on his Harley, he and his family could often be found waterskiing on Lake Whalom. George was also an active member of the Leominster HOG Association.
Surviving are, his wife Melody and her daughter Felicia Vautour of Clearwater, FL, his children and step-children, Geraldine Bacon-McFadden, Dr. Victoria Bacon, George Bacon, Jr. (Bill), Rhonda Bacon, Richard Prokowich and son Daniel, Lisa Fitzgerald and son Dillon, Rhonda Thomas and daughters, Rebecca and Katherin, Dr. & Major Denis Descarreaux, his wife Nancy, son Henry, daughter Aiden, Sherri Kulow, husband Chris, daughters Jordon and Brooke.
There will be a memorial service and reception in the spring 2009 in Massachusetts on Lake Whalom for those who wish to celebrate and honor his life.
