Ruth L. (Herrmann) Stebbins of Lawrence, Massachusetts and beloved wife of Albert J. Stebbins, died at her home on Sunday, August 10, 2008. She was 84 years old.
Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Ruth was a beloved daughter of the late William and Ella (Hartling) Herrmann. She was a kindergarten teacher for the Andover Public School system for 28 years, until her retirement in 1990. She was also a member of the Andover Teachers Association for many years.
Besides her beloved husband, Albert, she will be very sorely missed by her four children, Elizabeth and her husband Edwin Mignault of Concord, New Hampshire, Albert J., III, and his wife Sonya Stebbins of Batavia, Illinois, Cynthia A. and her husband Stephen Danforth of Andover and Jeffrey W. Stebbins and his partner, Lap Tran of San Diego, California, five grandchildren; Taylor and Alanna Mignault, Jennifer and Stephanie Danforth and Stephen Danforth, II, one brother; Donald Herrmann of Omaha, Nebraska, three sisters; Claire Culver of East Hampton, Barbara Benoit of S. Hadley and Betty Pomeroy of S. Hadley and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service was celebrated in the South Church, 41 Central Street, Andover, Thursday, August 14, 2008, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home 390 North Main Street, Andover, Wednesday, August 13, 2008, from 6 to 8 PM.
