BEVERLY: Antoinette "Toni" Cecile Holmes, age 76, died at Jupiter Care Center on Friday, May 2, 2008, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the loving wife of Charles A. Holmes.
Born on July 23, 1931 in Ashland, Maine, she had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Jupiter, Florida in 1991. Many will remember Toni as the owner of Joseph's Beauty Salon on Wallis Street for many years.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Wendy Holmes of Center Conway, N.H., a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Wayne Philpot of Beverly, four grandchildren, Tara and Patrick Grant both of Beverly, Heidi Strout of Naples, ME, Lani Smith of Stowe, ME, two great-grandsons, Caleb and Caiden Strout both of Naples, ME, one sister, Effie, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A memorial service for Antoinette will be held in the North Beverly Cemetery, Saturday, September 13th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are to be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
