Peabody: Lucie J. (Morin) Lemelin age 78 , died peacefully at home on Monday, September 1, 2008, surrounded by her family.
Born in and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Octave and Marie A. (Belanger) Morin. A resident of Salem for most of her life, Lucie was employed by the Eagle Can Co for many years. Following her retirement she wintered in Sarasota, Florida for the next 13 years. Lucie was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by 4 sons: Ret. Salem Fire Department Lieut. Robert E. Lemelin and his wife Carolann H. of Salem, Richard N. Lemelin and his wife Linda of Salem, Michael B. Lemelin of Raynham, Charles C. Lemelin and his wife Julie of Gales Ferry, CT, 2 daughters: Diane L. Zubiel of Raymond, NH, Laurie C. Chouinard of Salem. She also leaves her devoted companion Joseph Levasseur of Peabody, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her former husband, Robert G. Lemelin of Salem. Lucie was predeceased by 4 sisters: Cecile Castonguay, Yvonne Kulas, Marie Sheperson & Theresa Angelopolus, 5 brothers: Samuel, Albert, Gerard, Raymond & Ludger Morin, a son-in-law, Michael Zubiel and grandson, Richard Lemelin.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
