Obituary

Joseph P. Dacey, 55 of Franklin died September 1 in his home. He was the husband of Ann (Collis) Dacey.
Born in Milford, November 23, 1952, the son of the late Edward and Grace (Slavin) Dacey, Mr. Dacey was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Mr. Dacey was a 1971 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Curry College.
Mr. Dacey had been a postal clerk at the Bellingham Post Office for the past 20 years.
He had previously worked for 15 years for the Seven Up Company.
Mr. Dacey was a member of the Franklin Elks Club. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan of the Patriots and Red Sox in particular.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Megan Dacey of Quincy and Maura Dacey of Franklin.
He was the father of the late Joseph P. Dacey Jr.
He is also survived by his brother, Edward T. Dacey and his wife, Sheila Dacey of Franklin and sister, Maureen Marshall and her husband, Frederick of Franklin.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 6 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be mad in is memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
