Harold L. Morrow, 62, of Derry, NH died Friday August 29, 2008 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Harold was born in Yonkers, NY on June 25, 1946 a son of the late Harold L. and Lillian P. (Ryer) Morrow, Sr. He had resided in Derry for the past 12 years, formerly living in Mobile, AL and Dowagiac, MI where he had lived for many years. Harold served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a 1974 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hope College, Holland, MI. He continued on to receive his Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Illinois in 1976. He was most recently employed for GMC Technologies in Boston, MA. He enjoyed fishing, reading and traveling, but especially liked to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Wendy K. (Oslund) Morrow of Derry, his daughter, Sarah Morrow and son, Geoffrey Morrow both of Derry, his sister, Martha Whitcomb and her husband Bruce of South Bend, IN, and also several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a celebration of Harold’s life was held on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at 6:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial will be at a later date in the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Research, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445-9924.
