Gerald W. Manning (Jerry, Jed) 88, of Kingston, MA died on Wednesday, Aug. 27 after a long illness. Devoted Husband of Lillian Manning, beloved father of Barbara Webster, Richard Manning and the late G. Robert Manning. Cared for by grandson Bryan Manning, he is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A World War II Veteran, Jerry served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, earning two Purple Hearts and numerous medals and battlefield citations. He was a lifelong B.C. Eagles fan. A memorial service will be held Wednesday Sept 3rd at 10 AM at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., (Rte 106) Kingston, with a burial to follow at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30.
