WORCESTER__ Arthur R. Collins, 86, of Worcester, died Monday August 25 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St. His wife Nellie E. (Baronas) Collins died in 1991.
He leaves a granddaughter, Crystal Collins and a daughter-in-law, Jean Collins, both of Worcester. He was predeceased by his son, Arthur P. Collins. He was born in Worcester and was a lifelong city resident, he was the son of Joseph and Angel M. (Kraft) Collins.
Mr. Collins was a foreman at Norton Co., for 23 years before retiring in 1984. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving as a motor machinist in the North Atlantic. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Worcester. He was a member of St. Christopher Church. Arthur was a longtime member of the Frohsinn Club where he enjoyed dancing.
The funeral will be held on Saturday August 30, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday August 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
