Virginia Jane Matthews, 65 of Kenya, Africa died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held 1 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2008 in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, GA.
Miss Matthews was born October 3, 1942 in Ben Hill County to the late P. Sims and Jane Willcox Matthews. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1960, where she was a member of the band, the chorus, and Beta Club, she also was assistant editor of the annual. Miss Matthews graduated from the University Of Georgia, where she played in the Dixie Red Coat Band. She was a computer technician in the banking industry before becoming a missionary in Kenya, Africa. Miss Matthews was a former member of Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald.
She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Frances Matthews & Bernie Chalmers, Saint Helena Island, SC.
