TEWKSBURY - Stephen J. Collins, age 63, a Veteran of the Vietnam War, died Tuesday evening, August 26, at his North Tewksbury home, from an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Boston, July 29, 1945, a son of Thomas and Ruth (Crickard) Collins. He was raised in Tewksbury, and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1963. He enlisted into the U.S.Air Force, and served his tour of duty as an aircraft mechanic.
He was currently employed as an international shipper for Bruker Daltronics Co., in Billerica.
Besides his parents, who currently reside in Punta Gorda, Florida, he is survived by five children, Melody Tate of TX, Stephen J. Collins Jr., of Lowell, Shayla M. Collins of Brookfield, Craig M. Collins of Tewksbury, Katelyn M. Collins of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, Logan, Kelsey, and Alexis; one great granddaughter, Greyson; five siblings, Susan Buckley and her husband Al of Pepperell, Thomas Collins Jr., and his wife Donna of VT, Lynne Clayton and her husband Timothy of CO, Cheryl Baronas and her husband William of NH, William Collins and his wife Pam of NH; and his former wife, Julie M. Ryan of NH; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 30, in the funeral home. Burial followed at St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
