WORCESTER-Ralph R. Cox, 89, of Worcester, died Monday, August 25th in UMass-Memorial Hospital. His wife of 35 years, Eleanor (Ruddy) Cox died in 1993. He leaves many nephews and nieces, including Maureen O’Connor of West Boylston, Janet M., wife of James Hedlund of Westminster and Judith, wife of James J. Noone of Southborough. His brother, Raymond H. Cox, and three sisters, Dorothea M. Glavin, Rita M. Sullivan and Helen R. Rose predeceased him.
Mr. Cox was born in Worcester, son of Perley J. and Ella F. (Morris) Cox. He was a graduate of Fitchburg State College and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. An industrial arts teacher for more than 30 years at North High School in Worcester, he retired in 1980. Mr. Cox was a life long member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Worcester. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and Ireland with his wife Eleanor, was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed bowling and photography.
A private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street.
