TAUNTON – Amelia B. (Valente) Ribeiro, wife of the late Adamastor P. Ribeiro, died on Sunday, Aug. 24th at the Golden Living - Garden Place Nursing Home in Attleboro, following a brief illness. She was 95.
Born in Murtosa, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Amelia (Brandao) Valente.
Educated in Portugal, she moved to the Taunton area in 1960 where she worked as a stitcher for the former Whittenton Garment Co. until retiring in 1970.
She leaves 2 daughters, Maria Fernanda Miller and her husband James of Taunton and Grace M. Gonet of Somerset; a sister, Eleuzinda Albuquerque of Aveiro, Portugal; 3 grandchildren, Marc Lima and his wife Karen of Somerset, and Danielle and Nicholas Miller, both of Taunton; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, Aug. 27th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church, N. Dighton at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
