Worcester – Maureen E. (Martin) Ducharme, 70, of Worcester died on Sunday, August 24 in St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill.
Mrs. Ducharme is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert F. Ducharme; three sons Stephen G. Ducharme and his wife Linda of Leicester, James M. Ducharme and his wife Jean of Worcester, and Robert F. Ducharme, Jr. and his wife Carla of Holden; two daughters Maryellen D. Ferranti and her husband James of Manchester, CT and Julieann M. Sweet and her husband Joseph of Sterling; 12 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Maureen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Marshall and Marion (Apholt) Martin, and is predeceased by a brother Marshall E. Martin, Jr. and a special friend Bea Coleman. She worked for the former New England Telephone Company, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Ducharme was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, the Rockwood Yankee’s Camping Club, of which she was a past president, and the Red Hat Society in Florida. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and spending time with her family.
The funeral will be held from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street on Wednesday August 27 with a Mass at 10 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 26 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
