LOWELL—Katie Mae Williams, 96 years old, a longtime Lowell resident, died Wednesday morning March 26th, at her home .
She was born in Wilson, NC, on August 26, 1906, a daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda (Barnes) Anderson, and was educated in North Carolina Schools.
Mrs. Williams came to Lowell in 1958 with her husband, the late David Williams, Jr., who died in 1980, and was a member of the Bethel A. M. E. Church.
She is survived by six daughters: Annie Tune and Lilly Mae Williams, both of Baltimore, MD; Frances Simmons, Ruby McDougal, Christine Williams and Mandy Jones, all of Lowell; two sons: James Armstrong and Floyd Williams, both of Lowell; 30 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; and dear friends: Catherine Durham and Mary Mitchell, both of Lowell.
Friends may call from 7 until 9 PM on Monday, March 31st, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell, MA. Her funeral Service will be held Tuesday morning, April 1st, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial in the Westlawn Cemetery.
