Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Rita A. (Landon) LaRue, age 59, a Tewksbury resident for the past 6 years, formerly of Lexington and Arlington, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of William F. LaRue, with whom she would have celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on November 19th.
Born in Cambridge on October 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lillian (Tahmoush) Landon.
Mrs. LaRue was raised in Somerville and Arlington.
She attended Arlington schools and graduated from Arlington High School in 1966.
Mrs. LaRue resided in Lexington for 30 years until moving to Tewksbury in 2002.
Prior to her illness, she founded and operated Rita’s Cleaning Service for over 30 years.
Mrs. LaRue was a member of the Tewksbury Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
According to her husband, she loved traveling to Hawaii with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Lillian Shand of Tewksbury and William F. LaRue of Salem; six grandchildren, Victoria, Samantha, Abigail and Kyle LaRue and Joshua and Ryan Shand; also many extended family member including Richie Landon, Roy Landon and Rhonda Mallard.
Calling hours Wednesday, August 27th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30th at 11 a.m., at Kingdom Hall, 1 Bridge Lane, Wilmington, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office, c/o Brain Tumor Research Fund, 100 Charles River Plaza, # 600, Boston, MA 02114-9731 are suggested.
