TEWKSBURY - Brian S. Cormier, age 45, a staff member at the Tsongas Arena, and shipping co-ordinator at Merrill Corp., died unexpectedly Friday, August 22, at his Tewksbury home, from an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Brookline, MA, on March 24, 1963, one of six children of Richard and Sally (Dunham) Cormier who currently reside in Amherst, NH. He was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury public schools. He worked for Raytheon in South Lowell and Andover for over 17 years in the Missile Division. He was currently employed in the shipping and receiving department for the Merrill Company in Lowell, and an event staff member at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell.
In his youth, he was described as an outstanding Ice Hockey player. He later developed a love for golf, horse shoes, and camping. He was a member of several area dart leagues, and enjoyed viewing and attending New England professional sports events.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two sons, Brian S. Cormier Jr., and Jakob Cormier, both of Derry, NH; four siblings, Christine Long and her husband Alvin of Amherst, NH, Richard L. "Rick" Cormier Jr. of No. Chelmsford, David L. Cormier and Linda Contorelli of Methuen, Denise G. Allard and her husband Robert of Tewksbury; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends throughout the Merrimack Valley.
He was also brother of the late Penny J. Cormier.
A memorial service was held Tuesday evening, Aug. 26, in the funeral home. Memorials to the American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
