Larry R. Wolfe, 59, of Fitzgerald died Friday, August 22, 2008, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin.
Funeral services will be held 5 P.M. Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Leroy Spivey and Rev. Chris Dorrity officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Wolfe was born October 4, 1948, in Douglas to the late Ricky and Lorene Bryant Wolfe. He lived in the community all of his life, graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 1968. Mr. Wolf was a former employee of Melnor Manufacturing, Shaw Industries, and Y&W Sportswear. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He was a member of the Georgia National Guard, retiring in 1996. Mr. Wolf was a member of the Fitzgerald Church Of God. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved to stay home with his family.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by his wife, Rita K. Wolfe of Fitzgerald and 2 sons, Micah Larry Wolfe and Mathew Rodney Wolfe, both of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Richard Wayne Wolfe.
