METHUEN – Catherine “Kay” (Pappas) Sarruda 86 died Friday August 22, 2008 at her daughters home in Methuen, surrounded by her family.
Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of the late Peter and Archondia(Sloigan) Pappas. She was eduacated in West Roxbury Schools in Greater Boston. She was a former resident of Quincy, MA but resided in Sanford, ME. She was a former member of St. Catherines Greek Orthodox Church in Wollaston. She enjoyed knitting, quilting but her freatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
The widow of John Sarruda she leaves her daughters Karen and her husband James Knight of Methuen and Sophia and her husband Daniel Shanahan also of Methuen.
Sons William Sarruda of Quincy, MA and James and his wife Alexis Sarruda of New Jersey.
Sisters Jean and husband Peter Caras of Cape Cod, Helen Arnold of North Carolina.
Brother Arthur and Wife Mitzi Pappas of New Jersey.
8 grandchildren Stacey, Kristina, Lindsey Knight, Danielle, Kathy, Jennifer Shanahan, James and Jordan Sarruda and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu memorials can be made to the Holy Family Hospital Cancer Management Center 70 East Street Methuen, MA 01844. or to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack Street BLDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01843. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12:00p.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen.
