Obituary

Albert L. Willis, 82, of Carver, died suddenly, August 18th in Bermuda. He was the husband of Nancy (Lewis) Willis of Carver. He was the son of the late Sherman and Victoria (Carmichael) Willis. Born and brought up in Randolph, a graduate of Randolph High School. Albert was a longtime employee of Liberty Mutual. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II.
Albert had a singing career all his life, as a child star, singing on the radio, he was known as Master LACO. Later in his life, he was the featured tenor of the barber shop quartet called the Yankee Ingenuity and was also past president of the South Shore Men of Harmony.He was a lifelong member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Randolph, where he served as the senior warden, a member of the town meeting and a trustee of the Turner Free Library in Randolph. Albert served on the Blue Hills Regional Vocational School Committee and was also the president of the South Meadow Village Association in Carver, MA.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his sons, Lawrence Willis and his wife Joanne (Milot) of Westford, David Willis and his companion Katherine Mills of Randolph, Andrew Willis and his wife Donna (Borden) of Whitman and the late Daniel A. Willis, his grandchildren Daniel Roy and Victoria Mae Willis, his sisters, Florence Watmough, Viola Smith both of Falmouth and Doris Powers of Sterling: also several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alfred and Eldon Willis.

His funeral service will be held Sunday August 24th at 4:00 PM, in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 1:00-4:00PM .Burial will be in the Central Cemetery, Randolph at a later date. Donations may be made in his name to a Charity of One’s Choice.
